Greetings! I am pleased to use this December issue of the SBA Regional Monthly Newsletter to express a sincere thank you as we move into 2013. 2012 has been a banner year for the SBA in Region 4! In fiscal 2012, nearly $4 Billion in SBA-backed loans were supported in the Southeast Region. This number represents the thousands of small business owners that are starting or growing their small businesses with the assistance of the SBA. The SBA has supported thousands of entrepreneurs through counseling and government contracting assistance. We have educated growing businesses through our Emerging 200 Program, which assists in increasing job creation in many inner cities. The agency has supported research and innovation and export assistance. We like to think that we are assisting small businesses in nearly every facet. This agency works with SBA lenders day in and day out to ease the lending processes and improve programs such as CapLines and Export Express. The SBA prioritizes placing capital into the hands of small business owners.
The successes of this agency come from a collaborative effort. I would like to thank the SBA leadership, Administrator Karen Mills and Deputy Administrator Marie Johns for their committed, national support of small business. I want to thank all of the SBA staff that works tirelessly to assist the entrepreneurial community on a daily basis. I also would like to thank the lenders who make the SBA loan programs possible and the prime contractors for securing the supply chain of small businesses. Lastly, I especially would like to thank you, the readers, who stay connected with this great agency. We appreciate you for your commitment and support of the SBA.
