Alabama District Office

Tom Todt, District Director

 

Top Accomplishments 2014:

· 40% increase in 7(a) loans over fy 2013; 43% loaned to new business

· Outstanding partnership with the Small Business Development Center Network leading to $60 million in capital infusion to AL small businesses serving 8,262 firms

Top Accomplishments 2014:

· Dollar value of loans increased 26% over fy 2013

· 25% increase in number of SBA lenders

· District 8(a) staff processed 25% more offer letters for government contracts; 25% over previous year; over $660 million

· The district signed eight additional Strategic Alliance Memorandums with community organizations

Top Accomplishments 2014:

· Hosted Inaugural Emerging Leaders class in Miami; receiving the most applications in the nation

· Boots to Business Reboot singled out for a best practice by the Office of Veterans Business Outreach's final report

· Amplification of message on the Affordable Care Act through all public speaking events and hosted 6 webinars during open enrollment

· Strategic Alliance Memorandums (SAM) were signed across the district.  The South Florida District has 33active SAM's

Top Accomplishments 2014:

· Robust training of small businesses in fy 2014: held 273 training events with over 6,800 attendees

· Managed 21 Boots to Business workshops state-wide for members of the military; training over 500 veterans

· Broke new ground with outreach and collaboration with the LGBT community

Top Accomplishments 2014:

· Participated significantly in the Shape the Appalachian Region Initiative (SOAR)

· Coordinated with several resource partners regarding the "Promise Zone" to best deliver small business assistance.  SBA is providing 25 guarantees per year in the Promise Zone counties

Top Accomplishments 2014:

· 11% increase in loan approvals over fy 2013

· Targeted 5 bank and non-bank lenders with headquarters or significant footprint in Mississippi who were perceived to have capacity to increase SBA lending and through the district efforts, four of the five lenders significantly increased their SBA loan approvals

· Lead office for SBA HBCU Initiative driven by the Regional Administrator; Created relationships with all 6 HBCU's located in Mississippi

North Carolina District Office

Top Accomplishments 2014:

· Nearly half a billion dollars in SBA-backed loans supported North Carolina small businesses; $449 million

· The North Carolina District staff supported Boots to Business by holding 35 workshops training over 350 transitioning veterans

· Supporting 8 current Strategic Alliance Memorandums with community organizations to reach more small businesses across the state

Top Accomplishments 2014:

· Record 7(a) loan volume: $206.9 million in SBA-backed loans to South Carolina small businesses

· Total 7(a) and 504 loan volume reached $235.2 million; the highest post-recession number of loans approved since fy 2010

· 2 new strategic alliances; Benedict College and Clemson University supporting the HBCU initiative and Clemson's Technology Villages Program

Tennessee District Office

Top Accomplishments 2014:

· Held successful Annual Procurement Summit with over 150 attendees and over 12 federal agencies in attendance

· Held a Northeast Tennessee Veterans Outreach event with HUD, State of Tennessee and a congressional office in a collaborative effort to reach veterans in the eastern most part of the state.

· Disaster outreach following the Spring tornadoes to provide SBA disaster assistance
