Cassius F. Butts

SBA Region IV Administrator

April 25, 2011 - December 30, 2016

Please join us as we say thank you and bid farewell to SBA Region IV Administrator Cassius F. Butts. Cassius joined the SBA team on April 11th, 2011 as the first African American Regional Administrator to serve the Southeastern Region. Under his leadership, this region has witnessed historic SBA-backed lending to small businesses, the highest numbers of entrepreneurs counseled and trained, and record-breaking government contracting dollars awarded. Nearly $30 billion in SBA-backed loans were approved for small businesses in the Southeast under the tenure of Regional Administrator Butts.

Regional Administrator Butts has added value across the Southeastern Region.  He has assisted in forging strategic alliances with not-for-profit organizations in every corner of the region; reaching entrepreneurs in new, untapped markets.  He also prioritized outreach through institutions of higher learning by signing strategic alliances with the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU's) across the Southeast igniting entrepreneurial ecosystems and positively engaging underserved markets.  Cassius has been a true trailblazer for entrepreneurship.

Please join us in thanking Cassius for his leadership and dedication to service as he held true to his favorite saying, "I don't see right or left or red or blue; what I see is green; representing small business success. Continue to follow your passion, and you'll be certain never to become lost."
